A Late Introduction
I have more or less lurked on the forum for quite awhile, but I will probably be using it more.
I have 1991 CRX Is which has been more or less my daily driver since 1995! When I acquired it it had 52K miles. It now has 304K.
Engine is original, burning little oil. Transmission has been rebuilt (bearing rattle). It is on clutch #3. The distributor/igniter system self-distructed at about 290, and I replaced the rear wheel bearings at about 270K. That is the only major maintenance. Everything else routine and by the book. Timing belt/water pump at about 70K intervals and oil and filter changes at 3K. And then there are the seats; I'm on set #3 and need another. And I'm tired of changing out those cheap seats common on the internet, so suggestions would be welcome.
Everything still works. The A/C died about two years ago and I had it redone for 134a. Before that it had worked fine and was the original system with the original charge! 28 years; unbelievable. The sunroof still functions well, but since there are no parts for it I seldom use it. Which is too bad because for me it was a selling point in getting the car. Except that prior to that we had had Hondas since 1974, including an '89 Civic Si, another great little car. (We don't do Hondas anymore, I suspect everyone knows why. Big, fat,, and gimmicky. My God, could you put anymore faux and contemporary styling idiom stuff on a car than on the Civic Si now?)
A little over a year ago a large wrecker essentially did a PIT maneuver on me heavily damaging the LH side. They're insurance wouldn't pay near what the cost of repairs were, and in TN you can't sue for more than the book value of the car. So I opted to get it repaired and repainted then even though it cost more than the car is worth, at least on the books. It was cheaper than a newer car and payment and besides, I couldn't think of anything I wanted to replace it with. Maybe a Veloster?
I've been a car guy a long time. Had a Porsche 914-6 for 18 years once, and currently have a 911SC project on jack stands in the garage.
That's about it; I will probably blurring here more.

Ugh. I was calm when my motorcycle was knocked down in a parking lot because I thought "insurance will fix this." I learned better now!
Have a pic to share of how she looks now?

April 7 2020. Left side after “PIT” maneuver by the wrecker in the far BG (behind the silver P.U.). Front fender trailing edge bent in when I opened door to get out.
Left side rear. I think the crunch above the TL was the initial point of contact, after which I spun to the left. I have no idea how many times I went around. There was no chassis damage and I continued to drive the car. Note I came to rest perpendicular to the lanes, half in the turn lane, half in the inside lane. I was in the outside lane when the fun began.
After repair and repainting. July 2020.
I was lucky this happened when it did as my county was pretty much shut down with the pandemic and traffic was very light. Had it been during normal times there would have been T-boned by traffic in the inside lane.

I do not know about the trim piece. The body shop found it.
Because the damage to the panels got the pinch welds which they said were very difficult to repair a different door was sourced, along with the rear quarter panel and TL assembly. I don’t know how they came up with any of it or fro where.
