Knuckle Ring and ABS Issues?
I rebuilt the suspension on my 2012 Accord with 179k miles. New lower and upper control arms, new bearings, new ball joint, new linkage, new steering tie bar, and new breaks and rotors. Replacing the bearing (driver side) I slightly bent/deformed the knuckle ring. After putting everything back together and driving about 5 miles I noticed the driver side wheel hot and smoking. Drive again and same thing. I thought perhaps the deformed knuckle ring had something to do with the ABS and traction control engagement. I replaced the knuckle ring. Noticed there was a wear area on the ring from the axel, so maybe? Anyway now that I replace the ring and put everything back together I get an ABS / traction control light and they do not work. Everything seems to fit perfectly now but traction control and ABS are out? Would a slight miss placement (slight misalignment of the ring to the ABS sensor) cause this? Or did the sensor just go bad? Or does the does the system need to be reboot somehow? Could the gap be off between the ring and the axel? I appreciate any thoughts on how to diagnose this before taking apart the suspension again. BTW the car rides like new but I really would like ABS working again.
