My new shocks don’t fit. I purchased a budget set of shocks for my 2008 Odyssey on amazon. However, the new ones are fatter at the bottom and are hitting the “arm”. This also stops the bottom of the shock from sitting flush on the mount. My old OEM ones are thinner, and clear the linkage fine.
So I returned the amazon shocks and purchased a set of Monroe shocks from the local auto parts store. Unfortunately I had the same issue. Has anyone else had this problem? I realize you get what you pay for. However this is not a quality concern, but a fit issue. I have gone back and checked part numbers. Had the shop run my VIN and these are suppose to fit. Googled the Monroe part number and this is the only vehicle associated with this particular shock.
I guess I can go to the parts store and ask them to physically look at their different shocks and try to find one that is thinner. At the same time I am thinking that there has to be hundreds of shocks this size out there. I can’t be the first person to run across this problem. What are other people doing different? Am I missing something? LOL
