Riding fear - do you get over it?
I want to get a street bike..but I have never riden one. The closest thing I have riden is a quad out in the desert..and those scare me a little. Its not the speed taht scares me..but more the unstability..I dont trust the damn thing.
Has this happened to you guys...do you get over it after riding for a while?

well a motorcycle uses some basic point of physics. Take a wheel and attatch it to a string so the wheel is laying flat. Start spinning the wheel and it will begin to stand up. Thats why racers can lean a bike over as far as they do.
As for stability, yes a bike is much more unstable in comparison to a car or a quad. But thats something you have to get used to. After a while the stablity wont be your biggest concern. Other people on the road will be.
Try getting a dirt bike for a while instead of a street bike.
<--------------I did and look now. Big air and crazy stunts.
Or get a Dual purpose. You can practice on the grass and dirt and then hit the road when you feel comfortable. The Suzuki DRZ400 is a great bike for that.

yup! i agree with bigdaddy. if you get scared in a controled area, like the desert, then you should practice more. riding is supose to be fun, not supose to be scary. relax and have fun with it. RIDE WITHIN YOUR LIMITS!
