Default Cranks but doesn't start

New here and recently got a problem with my del sol and want to figure out what it is so I can fix it. Before it stopped working I would sometimes have trouble starting but didn't have a check engine now I do. I'm not very experienced in cars, all I know right now is that fuel pressure is good and am not able to check spark and the car sounds like it's about to start but just doesn't. Is there any common problems with del sol over time? mine is a 95 with 147k miles basically stock.

What code is it throwing, now that the check engine light is on?

Why are you not able to check for spark? This is an important test you need to be able to perform to diagnose your issue.

Verify that the timing belt is not broken and that the mechanical timing is still good.

I'm trying to check for codes but only my SRS light blinks and won't give me the codes for my check engine. I don't have a spark tester or a spark plug to test for spark and the timing belt is fine.

Your engine should have 4 spark plugs in it. You can use any one of those to test spark.

Okay so I finally got my hands on some jumper cables and jumped it and it ran fine for the rest of the day but then the next morning it went back to how it was. Does this mean I just have a faulty battery?

Could be a bad battery, bad alternator, bad grounds, or something else. Have your battery and alternator tested. Most auto parts stores will do this for free.

OP, your other thread has some conflicting information from this thread...
If the alternator is suspect, charge up the battery fully, disconnect the charging wire on the alternator itself (tape it over or wrap a rag around it so it cannot make contact with something metal), crank up the car, test the output voltage on the charging post. It should be above 14v if the alternator is good. If the alternator checks out, test the continuity of the charging wire from the alternator charging post to the fuse box post and make sure there is no break or corroded portion of the wire.

We need to know what the CEL code is. If you are confident that you checked for codes properly and the light simply stays on and there are no blinks... you may have a bad ECU. When the car acts up, do you hear the fuel pump prime ? Do you hear the main relay click at "key on" ? Is the check engine light on when you are having difficulty starting the car ?
