Default Why would someone do this? Can it be undone?

So I just bought this 1999 Prelude Type SH, and through the powers of deductive reasoning, I've found out that the Type SH OEM ECU has been swapped for a P14 from a 92-95 SI. The weird thing is, it DOES sound and feel like VTEC is engaging at around 5200 rpms. My question is, WHY would he have done this (I'm guessing to put a turbo in, which it currently does NOT have installed)? And can I bring it back to OBD2 if I get an OEM Type SH 99 ECU? Any help or opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

If it helps, the ECU currently in the car is serial # 37820-P14-A10

Did you get the red immobilizer programming key? Without the red key there is no way to program the immobilizer in the ECU. And red keys were discontinued some time ago.

Negative, I did not get the elusive "red key".....I'm looking into these immobilizer bypass chips, I'm sure in the last 23 years someone's figured out this problem of needing to replace the ECU without having the "red key"
