I have a 1999 honda accord ex.when i start it it dies but if i pump the gas pedal couple times then it rpm go up then stays running.also a few times when i first start it .it stays running .ill drive it and all of a sudden it goes dead.please help

 

Any check engine lights?

 

The engine check light is on plus abs.i scaned system and one code poped out whoch is the wire that gows to the exaust near the catalic converter

 

I'd start by fixing the codes.

 

What code is it exactly?

If it is for the downstream O2 sensor heater or a short in a wire it would not be the cause of your stalling. However, if it is a catalyst efficiency code, that could very well be a cause as your catalytic converter may be plugged up.

If it is the pre cat O2 sensor then it would be nice to know what code as well. Could be a fuel or air issue depending on what code you are getting.

A fellow Bluenoser, I was born in Halifax (Truro) moved to NB when I was 3. Yes sir, I am still hanging in here and I still have that old CD5 Accord. It is in storage out back of my house. Way too much work into that to let it go to the crusher. Just need to find the time and space to get back at it. Been looking for an engine builder in Atlantic Canada that can install my Darton modular integrated deck sleeves. The regular machine shops around here are not anywhere near my price range......lol
