Icon7 Clicking noise above intake - Built B18c

Hi all,

So I've had my motor rebuilt with these parts
Manley high comp pistons and rods
skunk2 pro 2 cams
skunk2 pro xp springs and retainers.
440cc denso RSX injectors
PLM tri y headers into 2.5" exhaust
skunk 2 ultra street intake with short ram intake
ati super damper
new oil pump, water pump
The only thing that didn't get rebuilt was the S80 LSD gearbox, but that worked perfectly fine before i out it on this engine.
I have brand new axles too so I don't imagine its the CV's when driving

It doesn't sound deep enough to be rod knock and also doesn't sound like its from the bottom end.

But ever since the first start its been making a fairly loud clicking noise (louder than the valve chatter from my b16a), I've only done about 400-500km on it so its still fresh
I've adjusted valve clearance twice in that time and it got adjusted by the mechanic who dyno tuned also checked the valve clearance due to the clicking noise, we also did a compression test which came up with a solid 220psi-230psi across all the cylinders.
All in all the car seems to run well and also pulls well so I don't think its anything major, its just bugging me.
I notice the clicking most when it's cold and at idle, but its still there when its warm, I also notice it if I have my window down while engine braking. it seems to go away a little when revving the engine, but I'm assuming that's just because the engine noise drowns out the clicking. But when standing above the engine it is most noticeable above the runners of the intake manifold which has led me to believe its the injectors clicking.

But I just wanted to get some insight from the people here

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply. They should be fine as they were replaced during the rebuild

With spring style or hydraulic style?

Could also have someone give it a good rev while you listen. Should be able to hear the injectors shut off on the decel and then go back to clicking as it nears idle speed.

I used spring style. SKunk2 LMA's bought then in a package deal with the cams.
Ill try that after work today and see if that does it

So I just tried that and had a better listen. It was hard to tell as I didn't want to Rev it too hard while cold. But it seemed to quiet down as the car got warmer, but it was still there.
But putting my ears up to things around that area it sounds like it's coming from either Injectors or distributor

Listening again it's definitely not rod knock based on the pitch and speed of it
