Im getting a.code error.23 knock sensor. And im trying.to.figure out what the last.guy was.doing.here i have pics that im going.to.attach some pics tell me.what he was doing.w the brown and black wires give me your opinions please
I have no idea why you think this would work. I don't know what you expect any of us to say other than there are clearly multiple exposed wires and poor connections that need to be fixed along with tracing every wire in the car and undoing and correcting all the questionable decisions that were previously made.
Yikes - looks like a total mess. But...the brown wire and "naked" wires look stock...just unwrapped. The brown wire is a ground, and all the "naked" wires are shielding, which need to be grounded. The area where all the shielding is grounded looks to me like a factory crimp that someone removed the tape from. I think the single white shielded wire in a grey outer sleeve is for the oxygen sensor; the multiple wires in the blue outer sleeve is for the distributor sensors, and the orange and white wires in the grey outer sleeve must be something else that is sensitive to electrical noise (knock sensor?).
I wonder what ECU and engine is being run. Early engines didn't have knock sensors along with some ECUs. It could be as simple as them using an ECU with a knock sensor circuit on a block without a knock sensor?
Iam running hondata w rywire jumper just crzy how people just rig stuff i.bought it like.this a headache
well any input what the knock.sensor.might be from the pics i will do what u guys say and trace each wire
The Knock Sensor is on connector D pin 3. The EF chassis doesn't have a wire to the knock so if it is wired who knows what color is it. Are you even sure your engine has a knock sensor? The stock engine doesn't and the B16a doesn't. If it has a Hondata, you can disable the knock sensor if the engine doesn't have one. Also, the P28 ECU doesn't have a knock circuit.
Validate you aren't troubleshooting a problem that doesn't exist.
Get a multimeter and trace the knock sensor wiring to verify it is correct including grounds. Verify you have a knock sensor. Verify the ECU has knock circuits. Verify the S300 is properly configured.
I checked the wiring it has voltage to.the wiring harness also when i was.checking the wiring and moved.the.ecu the knock sensor.code went away now i have a code 9 cylinder semsor
im thinking the hack job when they did.the harness so im leaning on the dash harness needs to be replaced
The forums are practically dead so you won't have much luck finding one here. I would recommend reaching out to a place that builds wiring harnesses (like MonoTech or RyWire) and see if they can just make you a new one. MonoTech has done me right several times in the past and is very affordable.
