Currently I'm looking to swap my 2003 Honda Civic's engine because it has a blown rod (It would cost more to fix than to just buy a new engine) Wondering what my engine options are. I am not as mechanically inclined as most of you are so I was looking to get some input here aswell.
I'm looking to make this car a bit speedy without having to swap the tranny. Its a 2003 Honda Civic DX 1.7L FI SOHC 4cyl the Vin is 1HGEM22293L056186

I mean.... you can. Just be ready to spend $5-20k depending on your skill set and how integrated you want the swap to be. If you are paying someone else to do the work and you want it to function like stock with immobilizer and AC and all the gauges working you are closer to that $20k mark.
The K20 is well worth it, I once drove one with a swap. It's definitely a lot of work. I eventually just upgraded from an '02 Civic EX to an '03 RSX type S because I didn't want to hassle with the engine swap. Don't know your budget but you can probably find a used RSX in your area.
