(advice needed) 2003 HONDA CIVIC EX how to check engine swap??
Hey, first time poster and new to honda in general. I'm looking at this used car and was hoping someone would be able to give me some information on this. The frame of the car has something like 238,00 on it, the suspension is running on cheapo coilovers and the engine was swapped with a D17A2 which as I understand it is a SOHC with VTEC. The only real major issue with the car is that the brake cylinder is going.
So my question is this, one; how if at all will I be able to tell that this vehicle had the engine swap?
Then my next question is how expensive is getting the cylinder replaced? I'm getting a considerable amount taken off the value of the car because of this shortcoming.
I know that I'm kind of asking a lot and I have no idea what to expect; if there's any additional information or things to keep an eye on before I make this purchase I would just really appreciate someone giving me a heads up.
Thank you in advance for any information provided.

well do your research on the type of motors that come in that type of model
then once you identify that
look on the left side of the cat and there will be an stamp of the motor that is in the car
