I put a obd0 SOHC ZC engine with L3 trans in a 1991 CRX Si that was fully stock beforehand. Drove perfectly before, but the engine died. Now the new engine is sitting too far to the right it seems and keeps destroying the driver side inner CV joint. Mounts are new and the engine is pushed as far left as I can get it.
Pass. Side CV looks compressed
Drivers side CV inner joint boot all twisted up and about to break. Again. After pulling out of the driveway and driving like 5 feet.
Is there a longer axle I can use? Im out of ideas, please help.
Pulled this bracket stamped E3 off the old engine, and see
D1 stamped on the new. Is there any difference before I start tearing it up?
They look the damn same. So does the plastic timing cover

There is a place, known to some as Harbor Freight. In this place you may obtain a device, known as a digital caliper. It is (last I checked) 7.99 plus applicable tax. It will help you divine if these are the same.
Otherwise, perhaps you can find someone from the OEM supplier who knows what the casting marks indicate.
