Empty Engine Bay For Painting?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some help on my project EK. I have a 98 DX shell I’m working on. I’ll preface this by saying I have amateur experience with vehicles but I’ve always dreamed of having a nice summer EK. Apologies if my questions are silly. I own two other EKs I pick parts from. My goal is to do a manual conversion probably with a B20 Vtech while I save for a B16.
First, I want to have the shell painted, & have the rear quarter panels fixed up. I also have all the parts for a 99-00 front end conversion. The fenders might need a little work though. Do I need to have the engine bay empty to achieve a better paint job? Should I part out the car first? If so, what exactly should I keep for a B series conversion or can everything be parted out? I plan to keep the engine & transmission as it has low KM & I can put it into another EK that currently has a blown head gasket
