I was thinking about just boosting this d16y8 it has in it since it already has a built head but I would really like to swap it with b series.

What engine should I swap into it? I don't know too much so I thought I would post on here and ask. I want to boost it but I don't want to make crazy power at the moment, I'd say a reliable 350-400hp would be perfect. What engine is easy and decently cheap to make good, reliable power?
Can anyone send me a parts list if possible? I've been looking around about b16 but I seen a lot of people saying b20z is better but I personally have no idea.

I would have said J swap it, but you said cheap, so.... I guess a B series. F23's are pretty fun, too. They can hold a decent amount of boost on that iron block. Drawback is that single cam.

Nowadays K24 is the way to go imho. Sure its a lot more money up front, but in the long run youre starting with the best engine out of the box.
