Default Battery/Alternator help

I have a 95 accord LX 2.4. I recently had to replace the alternator. Was working great for a couple months. I decided to finally recharge the ac even though there is a small leak at the compressor house connection. I was hoping the sealant in the DIY can would stop it. AC was working great, then on the way home from work, dash lights dim, Speedo and tach stop working and radio shut off. I made it home only to have a completely dead battery. I charged the battery, started car and noticed when the compressor is on the alternator belt slows, then stops. I turned off the compressor. Following this, each day I drive to work, the car ends up not dead, but battery light coming on periodically. When I come home which is still dark, the lights hasten the killing of the battery.I got a second alternator and installed today only to see the same thing happening. I have an Optima red top battery 3 years old. It will charge on my charger to over 14 volts. My question is, can the compressor clutch even though disengaged, cause a drag on the alternator? Remember, there is no way to eliminate the belt on the compressor since it sized for alternator and compressor.

What do you mean the belt slows than stops?? Like it is slipping on the pulleys?? If so your belt may be worn out or need an adjustment.
If the compressor is disengaged it will be a free spinning pulley. So no drag on the alternator unless the compressor is sticking on. Should not drain the battery though
I would suspect your belt is the issue. However it very well could be your battery. Get it tested or charge it and see if it drains itself after a day. I have heard a few bad stories on optima batteries.
I could be wrong but I believe they did make accords without A/C just get the belt for i think a DX model and that belt will be shorter and skip the compressor.

My question is what alternator did you put in?

if you didn’t go back with Honda, your problem is your alternator.

the cars do not like aftermarket alternators.
