Got stuck in some nasty traffic today and my 09 crv overheated.

Got home and jumpered the fan directly to the battery to try and see if it's a relay or the actual fan.

Rad fan didn't turn on... I jumpered the AC compressor fan as well and same thing. I find it really strange that both fans stopped working at the same time.

What am I not seeing? I've ran a wire directly from the pos and neg terminals to both fans and nothing. Even Did a "spark test" with the wires to make sure they were connected ok.

 

It could be that one fan motors was already dead and wasn't noticed until the second motor failed.

 

I was thinking that's. So if both fans are not powering on with direct power from the battery they must be dead right... There is nothing I am missing??

 

Ground one pin and supply voltage to the other? Should spin even with the wrong polarity, just backwards.

Straight wires from both posts on the battery.
