Default Is it safe to move car with bad alternator?

Alternator failed, didn't notice until battery ran out of power unfortunately. I charged the battery and when I reinstalled it, the alternator started smoking, even though i didn't turn the car on. So I disconnected the battery and just got a new alternator today. Looks like I'll need to remove the radiator fan to install a new alternator, so I'd have to move the car into my garage to safely lift it and get the bottom screws on the radiator fan.

It would literally take 10 seconds to move it into my garage, but want to make sure that it is safe. And should I disconnect the power to alternator or just leave it?

Also, I've already completely removed the serpentine belt as I was going to replace that before I realized I wouldn't be able to continue without removing the radiator fan.

I don't see why not. you won't have power steering with the belt off but you can leave the alternator unplugged and just start off the battery.
