2001 CRV: Can a 2WD JDM tranny be used to replace an AWD USDM tranny?
Howdy,
2001 CR-V (AWD): the rear driveshaft was removed years ago. Need to replace the USDM MDMA (AWD) tranny and wondering if a JDM 2WD (SKNA) could be used since we don't need AWD, don't need to deal with another potential leak point in the transfer case seals, and 2WD JDMs are cheaper. Looking at JDM replacement trannys. Read about the non-consensus on the P0740 code that some get and a potential work-around when getting it smogged (8 drive cycles below 49 mph. Any known gotchas with this scenario?
Thanks,
