2015 Honda civic 4-1799 1.8L loud rattle when accelerating low gear.
The car has 117k miles on it and this started around this year. Perhaps around the 110k mile mark. The car is very loud during idle. When i bought the car at 13k miles and a year old , the engine was quiet. Now it has a very loud tick to it. Also when i an driving the low gears sounds like a rice burner. Like a loud kind of rattle. Somewhat like a crushed soda can on the back tire of a bicycle. And is especially pronounced when it rains for some reason. When the car changes to the higher gears the engine becomes quiet. The car is practically paid for at this point and I would like to put 300k miles on it before I have to take out another loan for a car. Also i know to make the ticking stop it needs a valve adjustment and imo it's worth it because the engine did not tick when it was new. I'm pretty sure the rattle is also the valve cylinders.
What do y'all think?

maybe check to see if your splash guard is loose underneath the car, i had accidently ran over a curb just a bit to knock a fasner loose and that caused a bit of rattle
