After long 6 months I finished rebuilding my 88 civic D15b2 engine and now my old is back to life. Thank you to the community for the crucial insight at times when I needed it.
next up is a little bit of body work and fresh paint. I would like a recommendation for wheel and tire package. Size and all. If you could post a pic that would be a plus. Thanks a lot!
It’s a DX hatch btw
thats awsome man its great that your back on the road ^_^
for wheel and tire combos there are many to choose from
what i can tell you after about 15 years or so with the ef civics
is that the best wheel sizes are 14 inch and 15 inch
and the one mistake that ive seen time and time again is people going with wider tires
(all those race car guys) but a ef civic with 175 or 185 width tires will get you the mpgs that will put a smile on your face

Tire width/size depends on how you're driving, daily/MPG hunting look at <185 width. AutoX, trackdays, and canyon cruising 195 - 205 is the sweet spot. Here's 2 pics to show fitment of 15x6.5 +35 Konig Lightspeed (long discontinued) on my EF Hatch racecar with 195/50R15 Hankooks. I'm a big fan of Konig wheels, I've got four different sets all of which are light and well built. Not to mention the price is actually pretty great for aftermarket wheels.
Two additional things, You aren't running a timing cover, which is not the best plan. I have seen a couple belts fail because of road debris and/or errant chemicals hitting the belt because there wasn't a timing cover over it. I highly recommend you refit it.

thank you for the detailed recommendation and pictures. It looks sweet. The 195-205 with 15 wheels is what am going with. Not too worried about getting the best mpg since it’s not going to be my daily driver.
the belt cover is not on yet cause I still have to adjust valve lashes and tidy up a few things. I’ll definitely put the cover back on once am done. Thanks again bro!

What's wrong with 15x9.5 wheels and Hoosier A7's on a daily? Seriously though, don't do this.
Edit: I second getting Konig wheels. Super affordable, strong, light weight, and decent looking. These are the Konig Freeform which I have two sets of and seen some fair share of abuse.

I will definitely look at Konig wheels since a couple of you mentioned them here.
get some 15” kosei k1’s and a 195/50 s drive/direzza dz102, you’ll love that setup, it looks great and won’t break the bank and be great for what you’re going to use the car for. this is just my opinion though lol.
Thank you for all the suggestions guys! I’m going with the 195/50 tires and definitely a 15 inch wheels. Most likely a konig or even the ones suggested Kosei wheels. I’ll definitely post a picture once I get the set.

Ok here are the pics of the new set. I went with Konig freeforms. They are 15 by 7 and a half’s. The tires are Hankook Vertus 205/50s . It rides very nice . What you guys think?. I will post more after a paint job.
Good choice! I'm a big fan of bronze wheels, especially on silver and white cars. They look pretty fantastic, hopefully you don't have any rubbing through corners with them being that wide. I know once I was at the track my 7.5" wheel/tires ended up rubbing a touch, and I had to flatten the inner edge of the fenders a little bit.

It looks good. If you want a little more look out of it, I would suggest getting some Progress CS2 coilovers and lowering it by about 1-1.5 inches. Rubbing will be even more likely and you may need to roll the fender lips if you do this. Lowering is not necessary by any means, though.
And I know exactly where that picture was taken. I used to live in the A.

Suspension work is next after I save up the money for it. It’s a small world man, I took the pictures at a shopping center in Lilburn :-)
