I have honda dw-1 tranny fluid , is this what the 03 civic takes ? On line it mentioned z-1 but I don't have that ,

 

ATF Z1 has been long discontinued, all Honda now sells is the DW1.

In my experience... I remember when the switchover occured we had at least a half dozen higher mileage customer cars that started having slipping transmissions. Honda themselves said the change would have smoother shifts, what we found was smoother shifts on a hurt transmission equalled slipping. So, on my own high mileage cars that have never used a synthetic transmission oil I go with a non-Honda mineral based transmission fluid, every other Honda I use nothing but Honda ATF DW1.

 

O.K. thanks , it also has a slight vibration on acceleration , any thoughts on that ?

 

Most likely a bad cv shaft inner cv joint. Replace the whole cv shaft ideally with a new, not remanufactured part.
