I’m new to all of this honda stuff so please correct me if I don’t know exactly what I’m saying, & give me a point in the right direction of what I can or can’t do or what I do or don’t need, thank you!

So I bought a 1995 Honda del sol, originally a vtec model, but along the way somewhere there was a b18b1 swapped into it, it is said to have bad piston rings, & a reputable mechanic shop near me says it’s about $2,000 to fix this for me, but I want to go turbo later down the line with the engine, so if he’s going to open up the engine and put it back together, what internals or things can I buy that would go in while he has it open so I don’t have to have the labor done twice & save money ?
Also I’m going for reliable & fast, not fast & cheap

I don’t have the space or time to do this myself I work a lot
