What is the best way to drop a 3rd gen prelude?
You mean to lower the suspension?
Lowering springs suck because you can't adjust them and usually by the time you buy the springs and a new set of shocks, you could have just bought a set of one piece coilovers.
The easiest way is to get a decent set of one piece coilovers($500+). They are easy to install and adjust. Plus they usually have softer spring rates to suit the average "looks only" user so it will still ride ok.
If you want something more performance oriented you can put together your own suspension setup with shocks of your choosing and coils of your choosing. That will require some research on your part.
You will also want to replace any worn out bushings and inspect the balljoints/other maintenance items while under there. Given the age of the car, if they've never been replaced before, they will have to be done now.
Once all that's done and you've got the ride height where you want it, you need to get a four wheel alignment. This is mandatory anytime you change suspension geometry.
