Hi guys, whenever i start my car after few minutes these four lights other than parking comes up on my car and stays on all the time. I have tried the obd scanner but no fault codes are showing up on it. So anyone have any idea what could be the problem with my car?
2. Some of the indicator lights are related to ABS and VSA. Not all code readers are capable of reading Honda ABS/VSA trouble codes. You'll need a code reader/scanner capable of reading Honda ABS/VSA trouble codes.
@tech8 These are the fault codes which showed up when I got it checked from a workshop, any insight what needs to be changed or fixed i.e., all 4 abs sensors or something else?
I know that every Honda made between 1996 and 2012, (probably more) can display ABS, VSA , engines and some transmission codes using the dashboard lights. Reading the codes with the dash custer, requires that the OBDII connector have a temporary jumper unstalled between pins 9 and 4 with the key out of the ignition switch, and then the car be put into IGN2, but not started.
If the brake isn't depressed and no switches are touched, once the cluster finishes testing itself and all dash indicator lights, the ABS light will flash every permanent brake-related code stored, one at a time and then repeat them several times. tne sequence will be a series of long flashes with value 10 and a seris of quick flashes with value 1.
Add the two and you have a DTC code listed in the Honda Service Manual and also in this forum.
If there is an engine control error, the service required (engine symbol) light will act the same way.
If there is an automatic transmission error, the D light will act the same way.
From what I've seen in the manuals, Honda has been consistent with these codes. They don't have one code with different meanings on newer cars. New codes are added when needed, Obsolete ones are dropped.
After a repair some "permanent" codes are self resetting. A few will be cleared by battery disconnect. Some can be cleared using the 4-9 jumper and a sequence of driver-accessable controls that are duplicated in tne HDS instructions tothe technician. Others can be cleared only by the HDS or aftermarket scan tool.
