Brake System Wear & EBD System
Does the 2018 Accord 2.0T have Electronic Brake Distribution? I have noticed that when I drive the car and brake that it feels like the majority of the braking, or least 50%, is happening at the rear wheels, it's a kind of weird feeling. I wore through the original OEM set of rear pads and rotors in like under 20K miles. It's my understanding that these cars DO have EBD and don't use a standard hydraulic brake proportioning valve like the older cars. They rely on a system that sends 50% to front and 50% to rear from the brake master cylinder and uses the ABS system to vary the percentage going to the rear. Can a system like this be the cause for the rear brakes wearing so quickly? Is there an adjustment? I'd prefer 70%Front/30%Rear so I'm not braking so much in the rear.
Some manufactures issue software updates for this issue, some dont.
There is no adjustment.
I have a 2019 honda accord 2.0T manual and I have been experiencing overly sensitive brakes. I barely step on the brake peddle and my car jolts harshly. I cannot comfortably brake when coming to a stop without it jolting nearly giving me and my passengers a whiplash. I took it to a nearby Honda dealership and they told me that my rear brakes are worn. My left brake is at 5 ml and my right brake is at 3, however, Both of my front brakes are at 8. I was also told that I'm experiencing the harshness and sensitivity in breaking due to my rear brakes being worn out. Not the case however because I've been experiencing how sensitive they have been since I purchased the car brand new ignoring the fact that it's brand new and I figured the brakes will eventually adjust and smooth out. 2 years later to date they are still the same. Harsh jolt when stopping, discomfort and annoyed by this. Any suggestions???
