Default Drum brake, rear brake shoes thickness, 2009 Civic LX

I read that it should be ~6 mm new and at 3 mm you change. The one I had in it was never replaced, car has 180k miles. I checked, at one end of the shoe the brake pad material is 4 mm, at the other end it is like 2-2.5 mm. I bought new ones and drums, the thickness is 4 mm everywhere... Advance Auto, Carquest. Should I replace the current shoes or not? I thought the new ones will be thicker. I can return all.

Thanks in advance
