Default Key Fob Battery Replacement - Stopped Working

I got a low battery on one of the key fobs and I replaced the battery. I’ve done this before with the other and vaguely remember having issues with it syncing afterwards, but I can’t remember how I got it working. This one now blinks twice (the red light) whenever I click a button and is not recognized by the car. I tried multiple batteries to make sure I didn’t put a dud in there but that didn’t do anything. Anyone have any suggestions? I’d love if nothing else to know what two blinks on the key fob means. The working one only blinks once when I click it.

The reason I asked is because it is quite common for users to just post in various sub-forums that is not related to their specific year and/or model.

After replacement of the battery, try to lock and unlock the doors with the transmitter by pressing the lock or unlock button at least 10 times.

If the doors lock and unlock now, the transmitter is OK.

It took way more than 10 but that eventually got the remote working again, thanks! Unfortunately the fob low battery message hasn’t cleared yet.

Changed a number of batteries and never had a problem with low battery message not clearing. Is the battery in the fob with the plus side up ( don't know if it would work a all if it is in backwards ) Also if your spare fob is in the vehicle, or near, the low battery indicator may be reading that fob if the battery is low in it.
