What to do. I purchase this car 2 weeks ago and today I notice the trunk lid not aligned. A new car I suppose I assume it was brand new. The trunk lid is off center and I saw clear coat residue everywhere. Not sure if it’s been in a accident or not. But I am hella **** right now. the whole left side and trunk lid has clear coat painted over the dirt. Little speck of dirt with clearcoat. I enclosed pictures. What can I do to fix this? I remove the tail light because of the over spray occurred here more. Even the tail light connector is sprayed with over spray. I always assume a brand new car suppose to brand new. Feel like I got a lemon

 

I have no advice, but do feel bad for you, that shouldn't have been sold without full disclosure.

You should have some consumer protection laws on your side. Time to get educated and then get resolution.

 

Yes good quality work. I’m in pennsylvania so the law stays either 500 or 3% msrp total repair the dealer doesn’t have to disclose that info. However after manager dig the history it had been scratch and repaired for a total of 4 hundred and change so the dealer doesn’t have to disclose that too me. I explain to him the whole car had been painted in order to blend in the repair of the trunk or it won’t match. How can that be 4hundred and change. So after few minutes of back and forth the manager offer to trade in the car and get another one. So they have to pay off that loan and open a new loan. What a headache but I will get a new car tomorrow hopefully. I will let you guys know.

 

So the dealer exchange with another car. This one been painted also but not that bad as the other one. I want my money back but they leave me no choice to accept this. They pick up this car from another dealer. As I was a annoying customer to them. I still see a few imperfections. But not too bad as the one I had originally. I said what the heck is going on. The dealer says now it’s being made in Mexico so there was a lot of issues. Factory may repaint before selling to dealers. This is my first Honda that has so many issues. Not sure if the dealers where I live but damn quality control sucks now. My other odyssey and accord didn’t even had this issues. This was back in the days. I will probably call Honda corporate tomorrow and address this concern.

 

Yeah, seems suspect. You have a shady dealer.
