Hi everyone sorry if this is in the wrong thread I am new to the forum. I just had a question about this b20b block that I was trying to buy off of some guy. He didn't know they were there and me and my uncle were the ones who found it while inspecting it. This is near the rear motor bracket. The car that it was pulled from was totalled from running head on into a telephone pole. He claims it to be just casting marks but I really think they're cracks. Second opinions? Thanks in advance.
Okay Thank you. I wanted another opinion. He’s selling the whole B-Swap (b16 tranny, b18 ecu, header, harness, shift linkage, axle and mounts). I talked to him and said he may be willing to just sell me everything but the engine. What do you guys think is a good price for me to offer him. He wants 1,600 for everything including the engine.
That is normal flashing from the casting process. EVERY Honda casting of that era has the exact same flash pattern. It has been covered over and over right here on H-T.

Okay Thanks! Could you post a link for another forum post. I can’t find anything else.

$800-1000 is fair for the rest of the parts except the B20 block. I agree with Ryanthegreat that what you have pictured is likely just casting marks and not cracks in the block.
If you do end up buying the block, I would at the very least have it pressure tested before putting any time or money into it. I'm not sure if you were planning on rebuilding or trying to drop it in as is.
b20 blocks averaging 400-600
take that into consideration on pricing.
it looks like the dirt and grime is just highlighting and exaggerating the casting marks.
