Is owning a turbo ls integra dc2 in California worth all the headache??
im just finally finishing exterior dress up on a 2000 integra
i had an ls-turbo before, but ended up having to drop it because of alot of complications with passing smog
is an ls-turbo really worth the work? is there a street legal turbo setup?

what is "worth it" to you may be not to someone else.
i am a california resident and im too old to be messing with smog
also, why would you have a LS in your dc2?
carb legal turbo kit? Greddy, Edelbrock
Good luck finding a complete kit

The Greddy turbo kit is used on Hondas for being street legal/smog legal and all of that, although they are difficult to find.
You could make your own street legal turbo kit as long as it has an internal waste gate or a recirculated dump tube for an external waste gate. And keep a good catalytic converter in your exhaust. Then it should pass emissions testing. Or just take it to someone you know for your inspection. Talk to the inspection places to get to know one of them and maybe pay them extra to have it pass.
If you had a turbocharged LS before, then you should know if you liked it or not and that determines if it's worth it. Which I think it is worth it.

If I was in CA, I would install all of my stock equipment, including the computer, then take it for inspection. Then install a turbo kit the next day, and leave it on for the rest of the year. Then remove it when it’s time for inspection.
I know they could look under the hood during the year, but it’s rare.

Piece together a greddy kit and keep it legal, or just return the car back to stock every 2 years. Or pay about $500 nowadays to pass it.
Is it worth it? Up to you.
Plenty of faster stock vehicles nowadays though.
