2014 Accord Coupe - Roof Cargo - HELP
Hi All,
First and foremost, apologies if I'm not posting this in the correct place - I'm a little new here.
Anyway, I have a cross country trip coming up and thought it would be great if I could have some cargo stored on my roof. I ended up buying a used Yakima roof rack system and later found out that the crossbar spread is 22" from front to rear. The problem I'm having is that all of the cargo containers I've found so far have a minimum crossbar spread of ~ 24". I called Yakima and they advised NOT to purchase a container and drill new holes that would fit the 22" spread on my roof. Personally, I'm not seeing the issue with purchasing a smaller sized container and drilling holes to fit - I can't picture it falling off the car or causing damage if it's mounted tight.
Has anyone put a cargo container on their 2013-2015 coupe and if so, do you have any recommendations / tips?
Thanks!
