I seriously need some advice here. My Honda is in limp mode, engine light on and I can drive slowly for awhile but if I brake for too long it stalls out. If I give it too much gas it stalls out and backfires. I’ve replaced O2 censors, spark plugs and even reset the ECU, previous owner put after market parts in, by pulling the fuse for 15 mins, then running the car for 15 mins then shut it off and turn it on, like many have told me to do. The car still stalls and backfired without touching the gas. Any advice is appreciated!

 

What is the code you are getting?

 

I haven’t been able to get the car to auto zone to have it read. I live in the country so it’s a little ways out but I’m gonna try and go today. I adjusted the idle up to 2 rpm and it ran a little better just one stall and a backfire and it seemed to improve a bit. Seems like when I press the break for to long it shuts down.

 

I got the code! It says CMP.... so fingers crossed the issue will be solved tomorrow when I replace it!

 

Use only an OEM Honda Camshaft Sensor.
