Default Accord 2001

My husband lost key for 2001 Honda Accord. Second key is not starting the vehicle, we are thinking the programming is lost, therefore there is no working key. Are we correct to say a locksmith is the only way to go? Thanks in advance!

Another option is installing an immobilizer emulator board.

See this other thread for various info. regarding an immobilizer problem.
