Default shifting gear

i have a problem with my shifting gear, when i shift the gear to d4 to d3 i can move the gear without pressing the ****. is that ok or not? by the way i have a 98 honda accord matic 2.3 liters. thanks

yes that is fine, you should be able to move it through all the D's without pushing in the button even into neutral(aleast thats how it was on my first car). You should not do this though, it is bad for the tranny

you cant shift sh_t in auto tranny..it wont do a damn thing unless
you going up a hill...

its not the dumbest post, look at WontBeBeats singuature now thats a dumb post, and you can shift in an auto tranny, i dont understand why you said it is only useful when going up a hill?

yes he can push the shift back to D4 to D3 without pressing the button
in fact you can go from N to d2 without pressing anything.
pretty much in every HONDA tranny.
but again, what is the point of it?
it will not make the car go faster anyway.

I'm pretty sure mine only goes into D3 from D4 without pressing the button. To go into D2 or D1 you have to push the button. On my older Accord you can put it in any position you want with out pressing the button. And it has no shiftlock either.
