Default Weird electrical issue with under hood relays

So all my relays under the hood will start intermittently not working after the car is driving for about 10 mins. My car started to over heat and I noticed the fans were not coming on all the time. My ac does the same thing. If I jump the relay socket for the ac it will stay on fine. I thought of relays go bad they either stick opened or closed? Can they be intermittently working?

First reading overheat tends me to think a bad head gasket as it is so common in these engines...
