95 Honda Accord ECU / CPS issues
Hey all, I recently replaced fuel injectors and attempted to replace fuel filter. I say attempted because I rounded out the nut trying to remove it!
any ways, after all said and done I went to turn on the car and got crank no start. Everything pointed to ECU failure so luckily I had a friend with a 96 accord let me borrow his ECU and sure enough fired right up. I live in Hawaii and there nearest junk yard is 20 miles away so I just bought an ECU from EBay, seller advertised it as being from a 95 accord but when it came the label said 94 Honda Accord and the las like 4 digits of the serial were off.
so I plugged it in anyways and it started but it hesitated and the CEL came on. I did the paper clip thing and got 4 flashes code for CPS. Ran it to the store and noticed Its running on limp mode and can’t get RPMs above 3500. Now my question is, do you think I have a bad CPS or do I have a bad eBay ECU? Where should I start diagnosing? Any help/thoughts are appreciated.
i don’t wanna replace a distributor only to find out it’s the ECU.
