Default Runs bad after warm-up

I lent out my Honda Cr-V -98, it starts Ok, runs OK, idles OK, but after a while, after driving a bit it starts to run bad, hesitates and will not run as it should. An "expert" says it's due to a faulty fuel pump? As I understand the fault gets worse and worse.
Presently I'm waiting for the car to return (it runs Ok for a short while) but I suspect the ignition coil, since it's an integrated part of the distributor it might shorten its lifespan or at least get hotter if its getting old and start to malfunction?

any ideas?

None -yet, waiting for the car to return. So far, as I have understod, the fault shows it self by it gets shorter and shorter time after startup until it starts to run porly, works fine for 10minutes or so according to the person who lent it.
Prior to lending it out I only drive it for short periods and noticed no malfunctions, it started immediately according to the one i lent it to and after that he had let it idle for some 20-30minutes or so.

I drove the car home, a short trip, and then let it idle, after about 20min the engine shut off like if I hade turn the key off. Tried to start and it will not start, the fuel pump runs so I checked for spark and there is none.

I have ordered a new coil.

I'd almost place money on it being the fuel filter. pull it out and flush some gasoline reverse through it, if it runs after that then that's your problem. Or just replace they're like 15 bucks.

Problem solved, it was the ignition coil, replaced it and the car runs fine.
