Default why didnt it fit? what should i do now?

im doing a LS motor swap into my 94 civic and i just pulled the d15 motor out. then i put the b18 in and everybody told me that the motor fits right in (with ease). anyways the motor fits in relatively well but the end of the transmission touches the frame of the car. so i cant tighten up the mount. i dont know if im doing something wrong or not but everyone i talked to said it fits. so now i have to either cut out a piece of the frame or use a spacer between the mount and tranny so that the tranny sits just under the frame a little. what do you guys think i should do(what would be best).

Sounds like it's not quite all the way in.

im using the integra mounts. also it maybe frame damage. i did get the car salvaged. but it looks straight to me. plus car doesnt pull in either direction so unlikely to be tweeked frame. ill just end up cuttin frame though.

i dotn know if it is smart to cut the frame....if you ever get in an accident ur fucked....
you could try using your civic mount...i dont have a clue if they are any different but it seems like a logicla thing to try....to me anyway
good luck though

Hrm... seems like you have to use a certain combination of Teg and CiViC mounts, don't you?

did you already tighten up all the other mounts? if so maybe you can loosen them up so you can move the engine around some until you can get enough space to tighten it.

when you put the engine on the cherry picker put it at an angle where the tranny is angled down...dropped it in slow, mount the tranny then lower the rest of the motor...it's a bitch...i was helping a friend put a motor in and wee had to force the motor in almost..hehe ..but it got in there...good luck

This is what I have heard, although I have never done this swap before.

you used the integra motor mounts, correct?
they are all 5 speed integra mounts, correct?

what year B18?

yes usually a B series from a teg drops right in no problemmo, but it took me a hour or so to get my last one lined up correctly.

I always have a problem making it fit in, what I do is rub some KYB jelly on her hole, and slide it right in.
