Del Sol S vs Del Sol Si transmissions
After driving my friends new 93 del sol s, I am highly considering buying one myself. I loved how low rpm it sat on the highway, but I want an Si trim. My question is there a difference in the gearing between the two cars and if so, how much? TIA.
two different transmission and engines
S - D15B7
SI - D16Z6/D16y8 (depending on the year)
The SI has power door locks, rear disk brakes and overall better engine/transmission. Rebuild it and throw a turbo setup on it.. And of course, make sure the car is properly tuned/dyno'd. That's the most important thing, besides a well-built motor.

As you noticed, way, way longer gears in the s. When I was doing long roadtrips I would swap the transmission to longer gears. I've only done this for B series, but maybe look into swapping some gears.
