Default 2018 CR-V trans Service

Hi Folks,

I'm a new member, and a wrench turner since my teens. My service code for the transmission service came up (this is the 2nd time). I did the service 30K ago, and added fluid until it came out the over fill plug (this was per a forum search I did several years ago). I'm currently on travel, and a long way from home at a friend's home when this code came up. Since I had access to a jack etc. to do this service, figured I would do the minimum to get home (2500 miles). I bought the Honda fluid at Bob Boyce near Pearl Mississippi and they recommended 4 quarts (3.7 to fill after drain). Anyhow, when draining, 4.2 quarts came out, and I put in 4 quarts (since that was all I bought on their recommendation). My question, is what is the proper procedure? Is it drain and fill until the fluid comes out the over fill with bolt removed (the fill plug has no dip stick)? What is the recommended quantity? Last time I did this, I drained, put in 4, went around the block and drained again, then filled until it came out the fill port. Any guess why they recommended 3.7? Is this for older model? The fluid I put in matched the code on the fill cap.HCF-2.

I plan on getting more fluid tomorrow, and adding until it comes out the over fill plug, and will probably drain and fill when I get home (2500 miles).

Happy Mother's day to all the mothers reading!
Jerry

UPDATE:
I did get an additional quart of the HCF-2 and it took almost the whole quart. I also confirmed with one of the techs working that the correct procedure for my model year was to fill until it flowed out. I did this while I had the car level. I also found in the manual that the fill quantity is 4 1/2 quarts so I was surprised after adding an additional 1/2 quart and still was not at max and even at 3/4. It took almost the whole thing!
