Question about seating in a 1999 Accord. Hate these grandma sedan seats and found some really decent 01 Coupe leathers and/or some gorgeous 01 CL leathers. If I go with seats that have airbags in them, what issues will I run into electronically in my '99 Accord which is not equipped with side airbags? Thanks all, and if anyone has done a seat swap into a '99 Accord before,bwhich model did you use (and why) and what electronic or mechanical issues did you run into? Thanks in advance all.

 

I could be wrong, but I don't think anyone makes seats with airbags in them, it wouldn't make a lot of sense. You have window side curtain bags, the steering wheel, lower ones can be in the door, but not the seats themselves. So you don't have to worry about that.

Compatible seats should be:

s2000
RSX
Acura CL


Of those, the Acura CL (of same year) should bolt in without any modifications. The others all need a little modification of the brackets. I believe, for example, the S2000 fits 3 of the 4 bolts, and you have to drill the other one.

The only direct bolt in will be the Acura, but really it's not hard to make the others fit, a little drilling and you are good to go. Just get the seats with the brackets so you can mix and match until it's how you like it.
