I had a performance shop which catered to mostly Euro cars but we did turbo charge 2 customers Civics, a 1998 and a 2002 which were sweet to drive, hear and smell.

I am currently working on a tubular frame build and would like to use the first gen J35A3 3.5L engines from the Accuras or MDX. I am green to Honda engines, ECU's and wiring.
There seem to be some good sellers on eBay for these engines but no one sells them with their wiring harness nor ECU as a package.

I have seen guys selling harnesses and ECUs separately, but I would like to know what the compatibility closeness between engines and harnesses. Are they year specific or engine specific, meaning that an engine from one model can be swapped into to another.
There are also guys selling engines that they say can fit other models, meaning that ECUs and harnesses might be swappable but where do you confirm this... on great forums like these which guys who are honest and knowledgeable can say.

Ideally it would be nice to buy a wreck and get the engine, harness and ECU from the same car but I am not living in North America now and will have to import these parts separately.

We would like to use these engines, mid engine mounted and mated to a manual tranny from another car, more than likely the Subaru EJ power train. Please advise guys and thanks for your help.

I saw the MDX 3.7 300Hp engines and loving it, read that they leak oil after a while and a bit of work to address.

I am also looking to put a 35A3 up to an EJ power train in a bugeye WRX, and have had trouble finding much info. The A3 I believe only comes in the 01 and 02 MDX, and 03 they switched to the A5. If you were to take a harness from an A5 I believe you would be able to get basic things like injectors and coils and most sensors to work, but I know things like the intake runners are a completely different setup. I wish I could give more info but I am also green
