New to the forum, been lurking for a couple of years now I guess, so thought its time I introduced myself. My Name is Justin, im a dude in my late 30s reigniting an old flame in a 90s Honda Civic. I bought the car as a rolling shell with almost everything useful missing back in 2019. Since then I have been slowly building up my little dream Honda! I have learned a lot from this forum over the last couple years, and had a hell of a lot of help and guidance from a select few friends who know their ****, and I have ended up with a K swapped EJ civic which I am stoked about ! Its not quite finished, but we into the last 10% so fully into the juicy bit. Its been one hell of a journey to this point I can tell you. A lot of lessons learnt, Taking on this project was a quite the undertaking as a non mechanic. But here we are almost at the finish line!
Happy to try and answer any questions; Feel free go and check out the whole build on YouTube, you can find the channel here at the link: CAPTAINS VLOG - YouTube
Nice man i'll have to check yours out as well, im building a 4door that I just got from Japan. Was this already 5 speed? I'll check out your Youtube as well. Cant wait to see what you do with it and maybe it'll serve as some inspiration for mines

Thank you, the car would have been a 5spd from factory as its an EJ9 base and would have had a 90bhp D14 in there, however none of that came with the car ha ha, so it now uses the Type R 6spd transmission.
Though I would update this post with some recent images of the car, fully working and running, did my first track day at Silverstone Circuit, a first for both me and the car - check out
Updated intake setup, Skunk2 rep intake manifold and custom 3.5" inlet pipe and RamAir filter - picked up 15hp on the dyno with these mods and the cold air feeds in the bumper OEM DC2 brake servo and master cylinder - S2000 Clutch master cylinder - braided lines throughout bespoke 4 point track day cage and rear chassis brace 1st time at a meet
Build looks sick man, congrats 😁 I’m in the early stages of building my own ej9 K20 so I have plenty of questions if you’ll answer them.
The main thing I’m curious about at the moment is the wiring. It’s not an issue for me right now as I’m rebuilding the suspension atm but I haven’t changed out a loom on a car before so I’m looking for a bit of advice with it
The wiring wasnt really that bad, as you only need to change the engine harness, and wire in the swap conversion harness. I bought the BWE conversion harness for my chassis, it mostly just plugged in. The engine harness plugs into the conversion harness on one end as does the cars main interior loom connector, the other end plugs into the EP3 (Kpro) ECU.
You are then left to wire in a few single wires, for the engine coolant temp on the dash cluster, the rpm on the dash cluster, and the fuel pump. (this is from memory, was done a while back now), the conversion harness has built in o2 sensor plugs also if you are using stock o2 sensors. The instructions supplied with my BWE conversion were a bit lacking tbh, though I am told they have been updated since.... The Hybrid Racing one is apparently better explained.
Final thing, it matters what model Civic you have aswell, as the preface models have a different interior loom to the facelift models, so you have to make sure you get the correct conversion harness for your application.
Super clean, love the progress. What suspension is done to the car and how did it perform at the track? Going to check out the YT next! Good stuff Sir.
