Default Short Shifter for a 97 LX Coupe

Good day, all. I've searched Google, and EBay, and Amazon, and I can't find a good option for a short shifter for my 97 LX Coupe. I'm not worried about racing or anything. I just like to minimize the time my hands are off the wheel.
Before anyone asks, yes. I have searched the forums as well. I have not found one newer than 2012. And, I don't want to necro an old thread. With that being said, are there any options available, in this day and age? Thank you in advance.

Have you considered simply cutting your shifter to make it shorter? Just a thought, done in it in the past for other cars that don't get much support for aftermarket shifters.

I bought the Prelude type-s shifter for my accord. Is a little shorter and supposed to be better throw etc, but I wonder if those are becoming rarer now?

I did consider that. However, that also means welding, right? I mean, I'd have to cut the bottom. So, that would require welding that connection back on, right? I was also considering the Prelude one I've seen mentioned. But, I'm not sure how "plug and play" that is. Actually found a site that offers something. I'll look again for the link. But, the cheapest is still like $200. And, it doesn't include everything needed.

So, while looking for that $200 listing I mentioned, I came across this...https://www.dcautoparts.com/collecti...7-honda-accord
Does anyone know if this is a good deal, or anything? It looks like I need other stuff too. Can anyone tell me what I can expect to look for? Or, should I be able to just remove the old shift stick, and replace it with this and call it good? Obviously,I plan on replacing and seals, gaskets, or bushings needed. But, is there anything else? I'm also attaching a pic, in case the link doesn't work or vice versa. Mahalo.

That's a civic shifter that's pictured. The Accord "short shifter" from them is just an adapter. The adapters are well known for causing extremely notchy shifting and stretched cables.

If you want a real short shifter JTC Customs and Cheddas Auto are basically the only options currently. Unless you want to swap in a K series box with RSX cables.

Thank you for that. I looked at Cheddas, and that's the site I was trying to remember. So, I see the options are between $150 and $200. The thing is, I'm not sure what else I may or may not need to purchase. Can anyone give me a checklist of what I can reasonably expect to need for a swap like this? I don't want to be looking at something I don't NEED and think I should get it. Those extras I can grab down the road. I just want to know the necessary items I should be buying.

Both of the ones I listed are direct bolt ons. You can upgrade the shifter base and shifter end bushings if you want but it's not required.

I appreciate your help. When I looked at the Cheddas website, they had a few different options listed as working with the 97 Accord. So, I wasn't sure which might be the best option. I'm glad to know there isn't too much beyond the shifter needed to update, should I desire to. I may look for those parts, just to see what it would cost. I mean, it seems to be a running thing, where once you open something up (in this case the shifter) it just seems like it would be a good time to just replace everything you can, if you haven't already.

I haven't looked at their website in awhile but I believe the difference in their shifters are the features they include. More feature = More $$$. Depends on what you need and how far down the rabbit hole you want to go.

The solid bushings are cheap. I would definitely recommend them. The rubber bushings in these cars are 20+ years old now and clapped out. Nothing worse than missing a shift because your bushings are all sloppy.
