2000 Honda Accord SE and the SRS light is on- how to fix?
Ive looked on you tube and saw the paper clip trick to short out the SRS light and it did not work for me. The SRS light never went out. I have to get this car inspected to get the salvage title redone or cleared whatever it takes to get my car back on the road. The light is on and Im pretty sure it wont pass inspection. The car was not damaged any more than a windshield but the insurance company said it was totaled. I have the windshield replaced and a salvage title now and just want to pass inspection.
You should be able to scan for the exact error to determine what is setting it off: airbag, seatbelt, etc.
If you are just trying to cover it up, pull the light bulb. I think you could also pull the fuses for things like the airbag which I believe also turns it off.

I have been scanning with the bluedriver tool but that tool doesnt read SRS codes come to find. Isnt there a way to read the codes with a jumper in the obdII ? Somewhere I thought I saw a way to do this by reading the blinking light and translate that.

Thanks for that, the pic helps to know about the paper clip part but the links come up for me as security issues.
I did find this though in this forum from this link.

Did the paper clip trick in the OBD2 and the error code flashed a 9-3. I cleaned the micro switch as these videos showed and did the clear code and all is well. Now I just need to transport the car to an inspector 25 miles away, as cheaply as I can and hope it passes.
