Default Fuel pressure relief

I have a 2007 civic lx coupe and I’m wondering how to relieve the fuel pressure. I’m about to replace the knock sensor which involves removing the intake manifold and fuel rail.. I read somewhere that I can pull the fuse for the fuel pump and run the car until it stalls to relieve the pressure but I worry it could suck debris and varnish from the bottom of the tank.. is there a shrader valve I can use to relieve the pressure or can I just put a rag around the quick connect and remove it and catch any fuel that sprays out?

I think you are on to something there... a common sense solution to your problem. I will add that you should do this on a COLD engine... not one you have been driving around for a while.
