I have a 1991 Honda Civic DX that cranks but won't start. I replaced my old fuel filter with this one:
As you can see, the new fuel filter (on the left) has grooves thats misaligned unlike the my old one (on the right.) I'm sure that the metal (for lack of better terms) tubes are supposed to rest on the grooves.
Although I was able to bolt it down the defected fuel filter snuggly, does it matter that the metal tubes don't rest on top of grooves? I tried starter fluid, and it wouldn't work. The battery is good. I'm 99.9% sure the main relay is good. There's other things I plan on checking on my civic that could easily cause my civic to crank and not start, but could faulty grooves be a reason for my Civic to crank and not start? Should I just get a different fuel filter? What else do I need to know?
