Default COILOVERS UNEVEN! HELP

Hello,

ive just got a set of hsd coilovers for my ej6 coupe,
when I installed them I think I played around with the preload so I tried reinstalling them again.

I’ve measured from the btottom of the mount at the top to the bottom of the spring where a washer sits. They’re all even and then I’ve adjusted the size from the bottom spinner (those things u spin with the special spanner’s) to the one just above it. To similar heights. Even with all springs the same length, and the gap between bottom spinner and the one just above it. (You know the ones that are the same size).

When I’ve attached the backs I had to undo the control arm so it saged in order to fit the coilovers. Have I tightened them up too strong? I’m not sure if anyone could help that would be great as I’m about 14 man hours into it and it’s P***ing me off!

Rubber bushings should be torqued to final spec once the car is on the ground. Otherwise, there might be some small bit of preload on them that is affecting your ride height.

Start with zero preload on each corner with the car in the air and add however many turns the mfg. recommends. Less preload should give you more droop. Once preload is even on all four corners, adjust the ride height the same way using the distance from the ride height lock collar to the preload lock collar. This is a good way to get a baseline for getting the ride height visually even on each corner. The car is most likely heavier at some corners than other, so add and subtract ride height at each corner as needed. Springs are also not always 100% accurate so you'll need to compensate for that too.

Lastly, if its just really far off, make sure they shipped the coilovers with the correct springs.

thank you. I’m going to try again next week on my two days off. All the preload was the same, all measurements were the same. Just really confused me as one side was about a inch in difference. This was when the car jacked in the air. I think I’m just going to restart again and hope they will fit.
