Hello,
I have an autometer wideband, and i am having trouble figuring out where the positive, and negative datalogging wires go to my P28 Hondata s300. Here is a pdf of the actual Wideband https://www.autometer.com/media/manual/2650-1465.pdf
Hooking up the wideband is actually really easy, and straight forward, the only issue is, like I've mentioned before is the data logging wires which are blue, and black. The .5v signal wire which is blue, I kind of know where this goes, its just the negative signal wire, not sure if i can opt not to use it, or this gauge requires it. To continue, im getting mixed answers on where to hook up my .5 signal, some people say its D14 but has an unreliable voltage, and tends to drop to .1 volts after 2 minutes of use, and then other forums say use D10, which is what im targeting to use, but when i read the pinout diagram myself, D7 says datalink, and to my knowledge, don't you want to hook up the signal wire to the datalink pin on D7? that is all, if i cant connect my datalink cables, what's the best next thing to do? just disable my o2 sensor and just run off the readings to my wideband? I've searched for 2 days, and literally NO ONE is using an autometer wideband on a Honda?????? not even on YouTube, does anyone speak of hooking up the datalogging wires or mention if it can be used or not. I wish people were more thorough with explaining things, and not just explain the basics, or getting straight to the point, which leaves a lot of unanswered questions.
Autometer ha given you a designated sensor ground. That's nice.
Connect the black wire to a SG2 @D22 (best) or PG1/2 @ A23/24 (still good). Either of those will get you on the ecu's ground plane.
D10, D12, and D14 will all work for an input. D12 is the best option since you're not using it for anything else and you don't have to give up your ELD or HO2S. I can't ever figure out why people don't use it as much.
ok so i wired it up exactly how you mentioned and it fired right up! now the next step is to get it setup in hondata, ima research this part too, but if you have further details to assist me on this, much appreciated! i didnt use d12 because there is no wire on the connecter, so i used d14 for the time being, i already ordered pins. i just loaded up a usdm gsr basemap on the hondata, set my tps, turned off my knock sensor, and the last step is to get the wideband setup, and i guess turn off my stock o2, i dont plan to use it, and ive read something about turning off the o2 heater which i guess is d14, and run in closed loop? idk i have to look into it more, the engine is just a full bolt on stock gsr, no bigger injectors.
O2 heater is O2 heater, has nothing to do with what wire you chose for your wideband. You need to shut it off if you are not using a stock narrowband sensor.
Sounds like you need to read the SManager help. The answers to all of your concerns are in there.
I clearly said i was gonna search for it, UNLESS you could help me by giving me the information directly to shorten my time, but i guess not https://www.phearable.net/informatio...etupguide.html thanks anyway. one thing that i have noticed about these forums, is that, many people are busy, and have limited time a day, to be searching hundreds of forums for SPECIFIC answers where as people who have the knowledge, have time to reply, but have no time to answer specific questions. YES, i can find how to setup an o2, but no, it will not always have answers to the questions i may have when i could directly talk to someone
I understand what you are saying, but I'm trying to point you in the right direction. The SManager help file is excellent and will answer the questions you are asking right now, without going to a website. It's built into the the software - there's even a keyboard shortcut to get there. Not trying to be a dick here, I am very busy but I also pop in here multiple times a day to freshen my mind a little even as I quite literally do this for a living. I like to give back to a community that's given me so much over 20+ years of working on these cars.
We can go back and forth on a forum and answer your questions one at a time, or I can point you to the help file and you can find the answers to 99% of your questions in one place. I promise what you need is in that help file. If you get stuck there, I'm sure that I or someone else will gladly help you figure it out.
