98 Civic
Hi, I'm new on the forum but i'm also new to the car community and was wondering if anyone had any pointers for starting up a project. I'm hoping to buy my first civic and I already know I want to swap out the engine and add new mods but I have no clue where to start or what i should be looking out for, all I really know is that I want a 98 hatchback as the first project.
You don’t need to swap the engine, just read the forced induction forum and that will give you lots of pointers. The engine in a stock civic should be able to handle about 220 wheel horsepower without the need to build it if it’s in decent condition.
first decide how much power you want to make, then figure out the parts needed to obtain that power.

Why not try to look for an already swapped civic. Save yourself the money, It's not impossible. Took me around a month of constant messaging through facebook marketplace but I ended up with a great 98 ex with a b16a2 swap and it still had ac for 3200. Drove from nyc to CT for it.
Yeah, there are plenty of Civics with swaps already for sale if that’s the route you want to go. Sometimes it’s easier to buy the car with a swap already. Or just stay D series and modify that engine. They have potential, just not quite as much as B series.
